Military Spouse Appreciation Day 2011 – Spotlight MilitaryAvenue Partners
Military Spouse Appreciation Day is the Friday before Mother’s Day, May 6th, 2011. It is a day to recognize the contributions of the Military Spouse to our US Military.
At the heart of our Armed Forces, servicemembers’ spouses keep our military families on track. They balance family life, military life, and their careers all while supporting other military families and giving back to their communities. Many have served in uniform themselves and, understanding the obligations involved, can provide unparalleled support. They are pillars of strength in their families, often celebrating their children’s life milestones while the other parent is away. – Presidential Proclamation–Military Spouse Appreciation Day
Want to know how to Thank a Military Spouse? *101 Ways to Thank a Military Spouse*
We recognize that there are many spouses out there that are running their own business, as well as managing the homefront and deserve some extra recognition from the MilitaryAvenue.com Team!
We would like to spotlight your business and the ways that you serve the military-families around you; how being a military-spouse has impacted your sense of community and ways that the community around you can support you as a military-spouse.
What is Required:
(a) You need to be a Military-Spouse. Your hero can be retired or prior-service but if you have lived the life of the military-wife (or husband) then you meet this requirement!
(b) You need to be a MilitaryAvenue Partner. If you aren’t one yet do it today! All that is required is a Military-Discount and you can have a free ad on MilitaryAvenue.com. Start-here -> http://www.militaryavenue.com/ListWithUs.aspx
Send an email to leanne@militaryavenue.com if you meet these requirements and I’ll send you a quick ‘bio’ to fill out and email back along with a favorite picture. We will use that to create your profile to showcase to the Military Family. Starting Thursday, April 7th (one month before Military Spouse Appreciation Day) we will start our showcase. I can’t wait to hear from you! As one military spouse to another I know all the balls we juggle and although many spouses think this day of recognition is unnecessary, we, MilitaryAvenue, think it is well deserved!Posted byLeanne KocsisonThursday, March 24, 2011Labels:MAPP,Military Spouse,Military Spouse Appreciation Day,Military Spouse Spotlight
