Thank you to USAA, Sitter City, Home Depot, Sears, Army Wife Network, Homes for Heroes and Dee Ramsay Burnett of Prudential Network Realty.  Without you and the support you have for our military and their families we wouldn’t have been able to have such a wonderful giveaway earlier this month, One Thousand Posts – Let’s Celebrate!   MilitaryAvenue Partners, This giveaway was such a success that I would love to do another drawing soon.  My thoughts on a Veterans Day giveaway follow some very kind Thank You notes from some of our winners.  So please read through if you are interested in participating and thanking our Veterans with a gift. Military Discounts, MilitaryAvenue and YOU!

    May 23, 2011 /

Recently we polled our Military Families as to what their favorite part of MilitaryAvenue.com was.  They had a wide list of choices because, quite frankly, we have a lot to offer.  We were very eager to learn what was the most interesting to them. We have our military-family blog, “Our Letters to You“; written by military-families for enjoyment, knowledge and empowerment. Daily we post articles from the Department of Defense, the Commissary, Military OneSource, USAA, and other great resources for our military-families knowledge:  http://militaryavenue.com/ReadingRoom.aspx At each installation we have local information, phone numbers, social media sites, and much much more.  By the way, we are always looking for more local information to…

What Does Your Storefront or Website Tell the Military Community? MAPP Tip!

    May 25, 2010 /

Last week we were traveling to Ft Riley, KS to attend and help support a special military spouse event. As always we featured our partners and what you bring to the military community! Our first night stop was near St Louis and we had a few minutes to tour Historic St Charles and get dinner after a long day on the road. As we walked the street taking in the shops we jumped when we saw this store window! We had limited time, were tired and had just been window shopping but this sign pulled us to the door! Does your sign or website do that? Does it say “Welcome”?…

    PAIR Day at Ft Leavenworth

    August 11, 2009 /

MilitaryAvenue just had a very exciting weekend attending a special event at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas hosted by the US Army’s Family Morale Welfare Recreation. The Post Activities Information and Registration (PAIR) Day was held on Saturday. It provided a great opportunity for us to spread the word about our wonderful patriotic business partners and share information with the large Army population and other service members stationed at Ft Leavenworth. The best part of this opportunity is that many of the military family participants are there for schools varying in length from 4-8 months and will be moving to your neighborhood soon! So we shared information about us and you at…

How to Get Involved in Your Military Community and Increase Sales

    May 4, 2009 /

Businesses need to market their product and/or services to increase sales and develop customer loyalty. Do you have a large military customer population nearby? How far away is the nearest post, base, camp, station, etc. Do you know the demographics? How can you reach them? One great idea is to participate in special events at the installations when an opportunity is there. We recently participated in a special “Field Exercise Priceless Packages” at Ft Sill, OK where we saw a large turnout of businesses targeting military spouses of deployed or soon to be deployed soldiers. The businesses that attended the event recognized the audience and were prepared to tell their…

What Can a Corporation or Business Do for a Wounded Warrior?

    February 11, 2009 /

I recently interviewed Brian Neuman from USAA about their program to help Wounded Warriors and I thought I would share some ideas with our business partners. Wounded Warriors are frequently considered those wearing Purple Hearts or receiving Veteran Administration disability payments that were caused by wartime service since 09.11.2001. Does your company consider hiring veterans? I know its a tough economic time but you can’t find a more loyal or proud employee who has served all of us so well! Are you the business owner? It can start from the top! Let folks know you are interested in hiring veterans. Are you an employee who knows a veteran who is…

Tips! How do I make a Newsletter work?

    January 8, 2009 /

I wanted to continue with some tips on an internet newsletter after my recent blog on this issue. I am not sure if I ran out of space, forgot what I was writing or decided it was too long for one blog. But here are some more ideas for your newsletter! After your customers start reading your newsletter be sure to bring them back with regular columns, authors and features. They will enjoy seeing the same author and it helps you to stay focused on issues as well. Basically it can provide a framework for your newsletter! Where do I get ideas for the subject matter? What are you best…
